APPLIANCE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Thermacryl Liners

Appliance Care

Good oral hygiene at night before using the TAP appliance is the first step in proper appliance care. Thoroughly brush and floss your teeth and gums. Brush your tongue and rinse your mouth.

TAP appliances with opaque liners (white or beige thermacryl) should be cleaned each morning with a thorough brushing using a dollop of antiseptic liquid soap.

Rinse away the soap, shake off the excess water and place the appliances in the denture cup with the top open to encourage air drying during the day.

Thermacryl liners can withstand aggressive cleaning in 3% hydrogen peroxide, available over-the-counter at any pharmacy, as needed to maintain the appliance in a clean, stain-free condition. Place the appliances as shown to submerge only the liners, not the adjustment mechanism, in the solution. The appliances can be soaked for long periods of time as necessary. Rinse thoroughly in water prior to the next use. Store the cup where pets do not have access.

Contact your dentist if:

  • the adjustment knob seems loose
  • the hook appears bent or damaged
  • the hook disengages from the lower appliance during sleep
  • you are unable to keep the appliance clean
