CONTINUING DENTAL EDUCATION LECTURE SERVICES



Dr. Rich MooreDr. Richard W. Moore, DDS has lectured throughout North America since 1993 on the topic of “Dentistry’s Role in the Management of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea”. Dental laboratories, dental societies, dental schools and other groups have sponsored this presentation to help expand the dental profession’s understanding of its role in and the public’s understanding of this public health problem.

The presentation is 6 hours AGD credits for dentists and 6 hours CDT credits for dental lab technicians. A full examination of the disorder, current therapies, treatment protocols, insurance considerations, medico-legal issues and patient management techniques is presented. As a consultant to Comfort Acrylics, Inc., Dr. Moore’s role is also to provide clinical consultation services to dentists, physicians, and patients associated with our customer laboratories.

Dr. Richard W. Moore is a practicing general dentist in Vancouver, Washington. A 1977 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Moore has distinguished himself as a leader in the developing field of sleep disorders dentistry. He has been a member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (formerly the Sleep Disorders Dental Society), since 1993 and has served on its board of directors for a three-year term. He has served on its board of directors for a three-year term as well as a term as the chairman of the corporate relations committee.

Dr. Moore is the dental advisor to the OPAP Corporation, and participated in the development of the oral analog to the nasal mask interface for continuous positive airway pressure therapy for obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Moore has been directly involved in technical innovations related to the field of sleep disordered breathing. He conducted part of a multi-center research project in Vancouver, Washington, which led to the FDA approval of the OPAP interface as the bioequivalent of nasal CPAP. Dr. Moore is participating in custom facemask design and fabrication that will hybridize the medical and dental therapies and advance the current field of OSA management. Dr. Moore manages patient care by referral from sleep disorders centers throughout Portland, Oregon and Southwest Washington. He effectively communicates his clinical and research experience to dentists and laboratories interested in participating in this fascinating and lucrative field.
